Virgin peddles toques for roofs (Nov 19th, 2009)
The study, titled Youth Homelessness In Canada: The Road To Solutions, features comments and insight from 700 homeless youth across the country. While the charismatic Branson proved popular, the young women in the square shouted with glee as Glee star Cory Monteith took the stage and presented Branson with a toque.

Cory Monteith Raises The Roof (Nov 19th, 2009)

Cory Monteith and Virgin magnate Sir Richard Branson launch the Annual National Toque Campaign for Raising The Roof at Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto, Canada on Thursday (November 19).

The 27-year-old Glee actor, who was also spotted that day picking up drinks at Starbucks, kicked off the campaign, which benefits homeless teens in Canada, and showed off his Raising The Roof toque (hat). You can get the same toques for a $10 donation at RaisingTheRoof.org.

Cory encouraged others to join in, tweeting, “check out raisingtheroof.org and help put a cap on youth homelessness in Canada! Sleeping outside sucks! (unless you’re camping)”

summary: an interlocking series of moments between rachel, finn, and puck. idea sparked from katy perry's 'thinking of you.' mostly this lyric: you said move one, where do i go? i guess second best is all i will know.
a/n: this got a little long (apparently brevity is not my strong suit) so i'm turning this into a 4-parter instead. look for one more after this.

part one and part two

( they form an odd kind of friendship. one that is mostly silences but sometimes laughing; often times yelling. )

In the thread the other day, about FOX and the Closet, I said that Chris & his portrayal of Kurt is the reason I watch the show. EndOfShow.com put it even better. Kurt is far and away the bravest character on US screens right now. TV shows have a frustrating habit of de-gaying their gay characters until they’re simply straight boys who share a tepid kiss with each other just before sweeps. Teen shows in particular seem to steer as far away from the swishy, well-dressed archetype as possible, in the mistaken view that they will be accused of stereotyping.

Kurt Hummel flames through Glee, leaving no doubt of his sexuality, and this is why he’s a believable and sympathetic character. He’s a Beyonce-dancing, McQueen-wearing, hairwax-applying diva who can also make a 20 yard kick and help out his dad in the auto shop. He’s resilient, courageous and caring to the point of self-sacrifice, and has a barely disguised crush on Glee-mate and quarterback Finn which repeatedly gives him that Garland-esque wide eyed sadness which Colfer delivers so well. Moreover, he’s one of the most popular characters on Glee because of these facets and not despite of them. In a schedule full of hushed-up gay characters whose sexuality is not depicted as a part of them at all (Gretchen on Heroes, I’m looking at you) Kurt screams “I’m here, I’m queer, get used to it.”

I've taken my obsession with the idea of Idina Menzel playing Rachel Berry's biological mother to the next level: a Defying Gravity duet between the two, which I have just whipped up. How is this possible? You'll have to click to find out.

This was inspired by the person who combined Lea's and Chris's solo version of said song into a beautiful explosion of diva-y goodness. Kudos to you. I'm just to crack!vidder who decided to take it to the next level.

( I find recipes...confusing. )

So I love Idina Menzel's album, and when "Ballad" came out I could totally imagine Rachel listening to this, revisiting all her moments with Will and turning them into "super, super cute". So I came up with a fanvid because...well, these two inspire me more than they should.

A tip: Tone down the volume of your speakers...So much rendering and Youtube first disabling the audio kind of made it really loud. It sounds much better that way.
